About Us | The Homeschool Safari
How we got here

We know the stress — we lived it

We’ve spent hours planning lessons only to wonder if we were doing it right. We’ve felt the weight of choosing the wrong curriculum, the exhaustion of juggling work and teaching, and the loneliness of not having a community that truly understood.

That’s why we built The Homeschool Safari. Not as a replacement for parents, but as a support system behind them. We believe parents are the primary educators in their home — we’re just here to make that role feel manageable, joyful, and sustainable.

What makes us different from an online school or a video-lesson platform is that our classes, clubs, and curriculum are tools for parents to use as they see fit. Whether you need a certified teacher to step in for a subject you find challenging, or your child simply needs social connection with classmates, we’re here when you need us — not prescribing how your homeschool has to look.

Homeschool Safari was founded in 2024 and serves families across all 50 states, with ESA funding accepted in Arizona, Utah, New Hampshire, Wyoming, and Arkansas.

How we think about education

Our educational philosophy

Every decision we make — how long classes are, how we support parents, what we teach and how — comes back to these principles.

🏠

Parent-first, always

We believe parents are the most important educators in a child’s life. Everything we build is designed to equip and empower parents — not to replace them or take over their role.

⏱️

Short classes by design

Our 25-minute live sessions aren’t a limitation — they’re a philosophy. Children should be playing, exploring, and learning off-screen. Our classes are a focused tool, not a school day replacement.

🎯

Mastery over pace

We believe students should understand concepts deeply before moving on. Our curriculum is mastery-based — students progress when they’re ready, not on an arbitrary calendar schedule.

🌍

Multilingual from the start

Language learning is most effective when started young. Spanish and Mandarin are woven into our curriculum because we believe every child deserves a window into a broader world.

🤝

Community as curriculum

Learning alongside peers — in clubs, classes, and shared experiences — is part of the education. Friendships, collaboration, and belonging aren’t extras. They’re essential.

📞

Communication first

One of our most important commitments is being accessible. We prioritize honest, timely communication with every family — because a responsive team is as valuable as any curriculum.

A note from Kristy
“As a second-generation homeschooler, I’ve experienced the journey from both sides — as a student and now as a parent. Writing The Science of Homeschooling was my way of equipping and encouraging families with practical tools and confidence. At Homeschool Safari, my passion is helping parents feel supported and capable while giving kids joyful learning experiences. I know homeschooling can be challenging, but I also know it can be one of the most rewarding choices your family will ever make.”
