Book Character Costume Challenge

Get ready for one of our most creative contests yet! This quarter, students will bring their favorite book characters to life by designing and presenting a book character costume. Reading is an adventure, and this challenge encourages students to dive into a book, understand a character, and creatively represent them through costume and storytelling.

🎭 Contest Challenge
Students will choose a character from a book they have read and design a costume that represents that character. The costume can be simple or elaborate, homemade or assembled from items you already have. Creativity is the goal! Students will then present their character by sharing who the character is, the title of the book, why they chose that character, and one interesting fact about the character or story. Presentations can be recorded as a short video or shared with photos.

📚 Age Divisions
Little Explorers (Ages 4–7) Costume plus a short introduction of the character.
Trailblazers (Ages 8–12) Costume plus a short explanation of the character and story.
