Why Sight Words Matter for Early Readers

Sight words are common words that appear so frequently in books and everyday reading that children benefit from recognizing them instantly, without needing to sound them out. Building a strong sight word vocabulary helps young readers read more fluently and confidently from the very beginning.

These interactive games let children practice reading and recognizing sight words in a fun, low-pressure way. Each unit introduces a small group of words, making it easy to focus on just a few at a time before moving on to the next set. For best results, revisit earlier units regularly to keep previously learned words fresh.

Pair these games with our printable sight word resources for even more practice, and check out our free English video lessons for additional vocabulary support.
